Nature/Nurture

"Nature/Nurture" is the biggest and most personal project I created during my photography studies at the MCAST Institute for the Creative Arts. The process, which ranged from idea generation, location scouting, shooting, editing, designing the final booklet, and then printing it, took a little over a year. It aims to show a split identity - that of a person who lives in one place, but originates from another.

I drew on my personal experience as a Bulgarian person growing up in Malta to photograph similar locations in both countries, comparing and contrasting them. Despite showing distinct places and people, the familiar feeling remains while borders blur, showing the simplicity of space.
